At one point I ran a book review blog here that was quite active. I read maybe six books a month and shared my thoughts on at least half of them in detailed posts that I thought were interesting and insightful but which, now reading back on them, were actually kind of silly. The domain lay stagnant for more than a year, not because I wasn’t reading (well, partially for that reason) but because I didn’t feel like reviewing or being part of the book-blogging community. (On that note, if you’re looking for old reviews, some of them are still swimming around here and there, but not all of them.)
Anyway, I’ve reformatted and reopened biblio.me in an attempt to chronicle the journey through my book collection. In my unending attempts to organize my personal library I’ve found that many potentially interesting similarities surface, so I started making lists. Those lists you will find here on this website as I go through the books. Things will be rocky at first, but in the end I hope to have every book I own represented here (I am thinking of it as a website that lists all of my books for my own reference while I’m standing in the bookstore wondering if I have a certain title, but you may think of it as the story of a library, a bibliography of sorts).
It’s probably not super interesting to people who don’t know me, but I’ve tried and failed databasing my books online many times; this is just an easier out for me.
PS: If you’re wondering, ‘Loki’ is the name of my nook. Though I don’t consider eBooks to be part of my physical library, I still consider the books MINE, so yes, they belong on this site. :)
If you’re wondering, my friend Carl Andersen drew the books in the footer for me because I forced him to, and I also sometimes update a personal journal at The Reshaping of Everyday Life.
